Froberg’s Farms Corn Maze

Beginning Friday, November 3
Go out and test your luck through the strategic corn maze at Froberg’s Farm. And if you’re looking for more fun, the scenic hay ride will take you out to the flower garden. There are also awesome photo opportunities. Make sure you check out all the neat attractions such as: the famous plastic duck races, bean bag toss, planting booth, face painting, glitter tattoos, basket toss, and pony hops. Don’t miss new attractions including the Bee Coaster, Friendly Fire, Corn Cannon and Lighted Hayride.

Froberg’s Farms is located in Alvin which is a short distance from Pearland.

Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market Starts Thursday, November 9

NRG Center hosts a four day shopping extravaganza with unique items for the entire family at this year’s Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market. They include home décor, gourmet food, apparel, accessories, toys, garden items and much more. All of this just in time for holiday shopping.

Hometown Christmas Tree Lighting & Festival

Presented by City of Pearland, Parks & Recreation and Pearland Town Center

About The Event: Feel the Christmas spirit come alive the Hometown Christmas Festival.
The traditional lighting of the City’s Christmas tree and a special
visit from Santa Claus begins at 7 p.m. The tree will be lit with the help of Mayor Tom Reid and Santa. Then, enjoy a live band on the Westside Veterinary Stage, snow in the H-E-B Winter Wonderland or take a horse and carriage ride, presented by UHCL Pearland Campus.
The fun won’t end on Fri. night! Come back out on Sat., Dec.
2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to stroll the Holiday Gift Market, watch local performances, enjoy milk and cookies with Santa presented by Memorial Hermann, and much more.

Hometown Christmas Parade

Date: Sat., Dec. 2
Time: 6 p.m.
Location: The route will travel east on FM 518. The parade begins at Old Alvin Road and ends at Pearland Parkway.
About the Event: It’s the 36th year for the family-favorite, lighted Christmas Parade. Join us to watch the beautifully-decorated floats decked out in holiday spirit. Businesses, non-profit organizations, families, individuals, and civic groups are invited to have a float in the parade.

Parking: Spectators may park in the shopping centers along the parade route at no cost.

Everyone is invited to this free event that features a variety of playable parks programs including archery, flag football, wheelchair soccer and more for attendees. While you are there, enjoy a plethora of top-notch culinary delectables provided by several of the most popular food trucks from around the Houston area!

 

Magical Winter Lights

November 10, 2017 to January 2, 2018 including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.

The 50-day festival is one of the largest holiday lighting events in Houston, and the largest lantern festival of its kind to take place again in the U.S. Magical Winter Lights will showcase more impressive and creative lantern sets than its previous years. The 2017 festival will feature seven fascinating themed sections including Magical Wonderland, Mystical Forest, Santa’s Christmas Village, Mystery of the East, Dinosaur Land, Landmarks of the World and the festival’s newest section: The Lone Star State. The Lone Star State section will feature a few of Texas staples including a 36-foot tall cowboy lantern and a maze leading to eight Texas icons and buildings. The festival will also include a Holiday Market Square where guests will have a chance to explore the festival food court and shopping areas.

There will be nightly acrobatic performances, authentic arts and crafts created by skilled Chinese artisans, amusement rides and games, live entertainment, and an expanded dinosaur exhibit complete with dinosaur rides. The Gulf Greyhound Park is located in La Marque, TX, right off state highway 45 south, and approximately 35 minutes from downtown Houston. It has neighboring cities including League City, Clear Lake, Dickinson, Texas City, and about 20 minutes north of Galveston. Tickets will be available in October 2017 at www.magicalwinterlights.com, Walgreens, and the Magical Winter Lights box office. The festival will not be open to the public on the following days: Monday, Nov. 13; Monday, Nov. 27; Monday, Dec. 4; and Monday, Dec. 11.​
