Peddlers and Solicitors

The City of Pearland has an ordinance on Peddlers and Solicitors. Any person engaging in the door-to-door sales, solicitation, or barter of goods must have a permit issued by the City of Pearland to do so. It shall be unlawful for any peddler to enter upon any private premises when the same are posted with a sign stating “No Peddlers Allowed,” “No Solicitations Allowed,” or other words to such effect. For those obtaining a permit they must also follow stringent guidelines regarding times to solicit. It shall be unlawful for any peddler to engage in the business of peddling within the city between the hours of one-half hour before sunset and 9 a.m. the following morning, or at any time on Sundays, except by specific appointment with or invitation from the prospective customer.

If a solicitor comes to your door, feel free to ask them to see their “Peddlers Badge”. All requesting to solicit must have their physical badge, issued by the City Secretary’s Office. If a solicitor does not have their credentials, contact the Pearland Police Department at 281-997-4100 to file a report and they will dispatch an officer to your location. Please note, the City does not issue “digital” permits, all will be physical.

Lastly, the HOA nor FirstService Residential (FSR), the managing agent endorses vendor solicitation. Please report vendors falsely representing themselves as an HOA or FSR representative to the HOA office by emailing Help@shadowcreekranchhoa.com
