About the Benefitting Agencies

The Texas Sentinels Foundation was established in 2007 and supports Wounded Military in cities across Texas including Pearland. The Foundation’s mission is to provide qualified members of the U.S. Armed Forces who were severely injured in the line of duty on or after Sept. 11, 2001 with support adapted for their needs. The Texas Sentinels Foundation offers support, primarily through the provision of housing and life scholarships, and helps these Wounded Military readjust to civilian life and prosper in their hometowns or new communities.

The Women’s Center of Brazoria was established in 1982 by a group of concerned citizens to provide services to domestic violence victims. In 1985, they expanded their mission statement to include victims of sexual assault because so many of the women-and a few men- with whom they worked were dual victims. Over the years, the Women’s Center opened offices in Pearland, Alvin, Angleton, Freeport and West Columbia with programs that include a shelter, transitional living, parenting classes, resale shop, and volunteer programs.

Pearland Neighborhood Center was established in 1987 in response to clients who need access to a variety of social services but were unable to travel to multiple locations.  Prior to 1987, the city of Pearland had virtually no health or human service agencies servicing the needs of its citizens. Since its inception, the Pearland Neighborhood Center (PNC) has been fulfilling the needs of residents in the northern end of Brazoria County. The “one stop” approach has proven to be the most effective way to deliver services. Programs include utility and rent assistance, food & baby pantry, Santa’s Helpers, school supply vouchers, financial stability courses, emergency assistance, and disaster relief.
